sessions & booking
how long is a session?
sessions run 50, 75, 100 or 120 minutes. we can settle on what fits once we've talked about what you're bringing.
are sessions in person?
all sessions are virtual, available to anyone in british columbia.
what happens in the first conversation?
the consult is free and there is nothing to prepare. it's a chance to say what's going on, ask me anything, and see whether working together feels right. no obligation either way.
how often would we meet?
usually weekly or twice a month to start, then we adjust. the pace is something we decide together.
fees & payment
do you take insurance?
not yet. i'm currently a pre-registered therapist, so my receipts aren't currently eligible for insurance reimbursement. i offer lower-than-average rates while completing my registration requirements.
how do i pay?
payment is due at the end of each session, by credit card or e-transfer.
what happens if i cancel?
late cancellations and missed appointments may be subject to a fee charged to the card on file. the cancellation policy is included in your informed consent, which you'll review and sign before your first appointment.
what if i can't afford the full fee?
i offer a limited number of reduced-fee spaces based on current availability and individual circumstances. you're welcome to ask about this when booking or during your consultation.
confidentiality
anything not covered here, just ask at the consult.
is what i say kept private?
yes. confidentiality is an important part of therapy, and your information and records are handled securely. as a pre-registered therapist, i also participate in regular clinical supervision, where cases may be discussed for professional support and oversight. the full details are outlined in your informed consent.
are there limits to that?
yes. confidentiality has specific legal and ethical limits, including situations involving serious and imminent risk of harm, concerns about the safety of a child or vulnerable person, or a legal requirement such as a court order. these limits are explained in your informed consent before we begin.
do you keep notes?
yes, brief clinical notes, stored securely. you're entitled to ask what's in your file at any point.
